We are very pleased to welcome Kristina Schmidt as a new member of the DfdK Hamburg network office team as of December 1.
She will be responsible for communication and visibility. It’s great to have you with us, Kristina!
To give you a chance to get to know Kristina a little better, she introduces herself briefly below:
“Dear DfdK members, dear friends of the Freie Szene,
my professional path initially led me to freelance work as a scenographer in Berlin and Hamburg—primarily in film, but also in projects within the independent performing arts. At the same time, I worked as a creative producer, developing and implementing social media campaigns, among other things. My Master’s degree in Staging of the Arts and Media in Hildesheim laid the foundation for this work.
Through my previous professional experiences, I quickly realized how much artistic work benefits from communication and public relations. This is where my professional focus lies today: highlighting the themes and perspectives of artistic projects and giving them greater visibility in the public sphere.
For me, the independent scene is a place where creativity and critical discourse come together. Especially in politically challenging times, it is important that this work is seen, that we stay connected, strengthen spaces for exchange, and advocate together on a cultural policy level.
I am very much looking forward to further developing the communication work of the DfdK and to accompanying the many topics, artists, and spaces of the independent performing arts in Hamburg. I’m excited about the year ahead and the projects that lie before us.”
