The workshop with Meredith Nicoll is aimed at independent performing artists who want to strengthen their communication and awareness within artistic working processes. The focus is on the fundamentals of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) according to Marshall Rosenberg: the underlying view of humanity and the philosophy behind the model, which goes far beyond simple “I-statements.” Following an interactive introduction, we will collaboratively develop practical tools for rehearsals, collective structures, and production processes through discussions and role-playing. We will also take a critical look at the limitations of the model. No prior knowledge is required; participants are very welcome to bring their own experiences and examples.
The workshop will be conducted in spoken German; contributions in English are very welcome. German–English translations can be provided selectively if needed.
*Short bio: Meredith Nicoll, PhD, has been working for over 15 years as a trainer and facilitator in the fields of language and international communication. She holds certifications in diversity management, facilitation/training, mediation, and coaching. Her workshops for cultural institutions combine her practical experience as a theatre maker and musician with a musicological perspective on artistic working and power structures.
The participation fee is €10 per person, reduced to €7 for DfdK members. Registration is via anmeldung@dfdk.de.
The workshop takes place on the second floor; unfortunately, there is no elevator.
